Subject: How Bear is doing

Barbara-Jean,

I want to thank you SOOO much for posting the warning! I also want to thank you and everyone else who prayed for Bear. When I checked back into your site and saw that you had asked everyone to pray for her, I just started crying! You really don't know how much it means to me!!! We are so grateful! I also want to let you know what is going on now. Monday evening Bear seemed to be doing much better, however when I woke up Tuesday morning, she was unable to walk! Needless to say, I freaked out and took her immediately back to the vet's office. He checked her and said there was no paralysis! He apologized to me because he forgot to tell me to "fast" her for 24 hours. She had eaten quite a bit Monday night and she swelled up and was cramping so bad it was too painful for her to walk. Anyway, he gave her a couple of shots and some more meds. She didn't walk until Tuesday evening.

I had to literally pour water down her throat. She finally started drinking on her own at around 2:30 am Wednesday. I slept with her on the living room floor. She also just finally had a more normal bowel movement! I am very excited, thankful and hopeful that she is pretty much back to normal! Now, on to the Febreze issue. Like I had said, the Dr. told me he talked to a internal specialist who said that Febreze would not have caused this. Now, my whole thing is this: 1. The Dr.'s cannot tell me what has caused this, they are both completely stumped! 2. The Dr. was treating her "symptomatically" and all the meds. indicated she was being treated for an ulcer. Again, the Dr. would not say that is exactly what the problem is. So, 3. Who's to say that the Febreze did not cause the questionable "ulcer?"

Like I said, I truly believe this is what has caused it. Nobody can change my mind. One thing I also wanted to add was that the Vet. has been very good to me in helping with Bear. As a matter of fact, I worked at his Veterinary Hospital for over a year. I am no stranger to Veterniarians. I have worked for an Emergency Animal Hospital, 2 vets and I also was a dog groomer at one time. I'm not just some overly dramatic nut case just wanting to blame somebody. :o) I hope the tone of that last line didn't sound rude, that's not how I meant it. I just wanted you to know that I have had quite a bit of experience in the Vet. business. Like your friend who works as a vet tech., I too WISH I would have been as smart as her in the beginning and just had thrown away my Febreeze when the rumors just started coming out! Again, thank you for everything you have done! It means the world to me! Wendy and Tinker "Bear" :)

P.S. I just got to thinking....even if you could prove it was the Febreze, there is no way in H__L that any vet on the face of this earth would go up against a company like P&G!! Sad, huh?

Here are some entries from our 1999 Journal that pertain to Wendy and Frebreeze!
